The Muscle Behind Your Sciatica That Nobody's Treating
Most therapies focus on the back of your body. But sciatica often starts in the front, with a deep muscle called the psoas (SO-as).
Sitting, injuries, or just poor posture cause it to tighten, compressing your spine and irritating your sciatic nerve.
Why most treatments miss it
Massage can't reach it. It's too deep.
Stretching can't release it. It's too tight.
Adjustments don't target it. It's a muscle, not a joint.
Until recently, releasing the psoas wasn't possible.

"After struggling with sciatica pain for months, I gave TheraMax Miami a try. Mylene and Cassandra are miracle workers. The shooting pain down my leg is gone after 5 sessions! I had never even heard of the psoas muscle and how it can cause back pain. So glad my sister told me about this place."

Common Questions
How many sessions will I need for sciatica?
Most clients notice meaningful improvement within 1-3 sessions, but that's the beginning of the process, not the end. Your body didn't get here overnight and it won't heal overnight either. The overall average is 5-6 sessions. Chronic or long-standing sciatica typically requires more. We recommend weekly visits until your pain subsides, then we space sessions out as your body holds the results longer. This is a healing process. Each session compounds on the last.
How long does sciatica relief last?
Relief builds with each session. Early on, you may feel better for several days, but the muscles will want to return to their old patterns. As the muscles retrain to their proper length, the relief holds longer between sessions. Once that happens, we space out your visits to reinforce the results. Many clients transition to monthly maintenance. If you stay active and follow the recommended stretches, the results are long-lasting because we're correcting the pattern that caused the pain, not masking symptoms.
Does TheraMax therapy hurt?
No. In fact, we focus on the muscle imbalances causing your pain, not the pain area itself. Your sciatica may show up in your back or leg, but the source is often a deep muscle in a completely different area. The pressure is gentle, computer-controlled, and adjusted to your comfort in real time. After the first few minutes, you get the feel of the therapy and most people honestly enjoy it. Many clients find it so relaxing they fall asleep.
Do you take insurance?
Insurance reimburses 15 minute sessions and limits treatment to the area that hurts. That's not how lasting results happen. To actually resolve your pain, we need longer sessions and the freedom to address root imbalances, not just symptoms. We made the difficult choice to stay cash pay so we can treat you properly. We accept cash, credit cards, HSA, and FSA.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No. We work directly with you based on your feedback and individual goals. Your therapist will discuss your history and what you're experiencing on your first visit, and treatment starts that same day. No referral, no prescription, no waiting.
Can I do this therapy if I've had surgery or have hardware?
In most cases, yes. We regularly work with clients who have pins, rods, and other surgical hardware. We also work around hernias and mesh. The few situations where we cannot treat include active blood clots, late-stage cancer, and pregnancy. If for any reason we're not comfortable treating your specific situation, we won't risk it and you'll be refunded for your visit. No money lost.

"Referred by a friend for my sciatica pain. Chiro didn't work. Drove down from Palm Beach. There's nothing else like it here. Absolutely worth the drive. So glad to feel normal again."
